THE NATIONAL EQUINE INSTITUTE OF GROWTH THROUGH HEALING, INC.
(NEIGH)
MISSION
Our mission is to provide transformative equine-assisted services in a trauma-informed environment that fosters mental and emotional healing to prevent suicide and improve well-being.
WHO WE ARE
NEIGH, Inc. specializes in aiding the post-traumatic growth of veterans, first responders, and their families. Through hands-on work with horses, participant's see what they’re carrying, identify what’s no longer serving them, and begin repairing the hidden wear and tear of the job before it becomes burnout, crisis, or disconnection. NEIGH aims to build resilience and reinforce capacity to lead, connect, and thrive at work and home.
WHY WE STARTED

The NEIGH was established in honor of Constance Marie Davenport, the late sister of our Founder Dawn Samuelson. Connie was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and active member of the NY/Niagara Falls Air Force Reserves who died by suicide at the age of 25. Dawn developed The Constance Project to serve Veterans struggling with mental health challenges.
Suicide prevention is the driving force behind our programs and central to our mission. Our team of facilitators are trained to recognize indications of suicide and to respond appropriately.
